Lower Extremity

The socket is the foundation of the prosthesis and comfort is what we specialize in. At Scott Sabolich Prosthetics, we create stable, comfortable sockets for lower extremity care. Our team has unmatched clinical expertise in virtually all levels of amputation. Since 1947 we have been recognized as a world leader in excellent prosthetic technology and care.

DO MORE WITH THE SABOLICH SOCKET

Older conventional sockets were rigid and uncomfortable and even painful. In 1992, John Sabolich created the patented Sabolich socket, a breakthrough design that provides comfort and stability. This lightweight socket is contoured to fit the bone, muscle and vascular structures of your residual limb and to provide unmatched comfort and functional ability. Since then, Scott Sabolich Prosthetics has taken this design to the next level. Our proprietary socket is unique to our clinic and our prosthetists have been through years of training and research to correctly fit the latest generation of designs.

Lower Extremity Sockets

BELOW-THE-KNEE

The below the knees socket has varying degrees of flexibility depending on each individuals needs. To add stability, it fits into a lightweight composite frame. Some sockets feature areas on the frame with more rigid composites while others feature softer more lightweight areas.  All are designed and built to be the most comfortable, best fitting socket available anywhere.  Some prostheses are fit with a pin locking system and others suspension sleeves or liners.  However your prosthesis is fabricated, you can be assured it will be the best fitting and most advanced available.

ABOVE-THE-KNEE

The above the knee socket is what we have built our reputation on and also has varying degrees of flexibility depending on each individuals needs. To add stability, it fits into a lightweight composite or carbon fiber frame. Some sockets feature areas on the frame with more rigid composites while others feature softer more lightweight cut-out sections to relieve pressure areas.  All are designed and built to be the most comfortable, best fitting socket available anywhere.  Some prostheses are skin-fit suction, or some with self locking suction sleeves or liners.  However your prosthesis is fabricated, you can be assured it will be the best fitting and most advanced available.

PARTIAL FOOT

Partial Foot prostheses have also advanced in times of design in materials. Today’s designs are fabricated from silicone which simulates human tissue much more accurately the plastics or rubberized epoxy. The form and function of a partial foot prosthesis has advanced dramatically in the last few years.
